Overlap is not the same as micromanagement. The goal is a predictable rhythm: when caregivers lead, when parents step in, and how everyone protects focus time.
Name the “heads-down” hours
Agree on windows when children know to find the nanny first—and when a parent is truly unavailable except for emergencies.
Use one lane for feedback
Avoid correcting the nanny in front of children; debrief in private the same day so small moments do not compound.
Reset the room
Physical cues help: closing an office door, noise-friendly activities during calls, and a shared calendar for “all hands” days versus quiet days.
